so, as well reported, the latest jw broadcasting show is all about giving money.

as far as the wt society goes they have been pretty candid about there not being enough funds to meet the expenditure.

there are plenty of views on if this is really the case or not but underlying this is why are they spending so much money?.

I've seen it said they are short on cash flow. But cash flow for what? They are not liable for any federal taxes, or sales taxes, They don't have salaries to pay because all workers are volunteer. They don't provide insurance for their workers, They don't provide a retirement plan for anyone. All their properties are paid for by the dubs. They are not worried about pedo-related court losses. They had a big financial victory with the Candace Conti lawsuit. From 28 mil to a few million. The rest of the lawsuits are peanuts. A million here, two million there, just normal business operations that all corporations anticipate. The lawsuits which are some millions can be paid in a month easily out of collections from the congregations world wide. Their publication cost are nil since they are using jworg more and reducing print material.

The call for more money is something else not related to running the corporation. It has nothing to do with lawsuits. It's something outside the box of what we are assuming. If they need cash flow then it has to be for something else not mentioned above. Something unusual that no one is thinking about or considering. Something outside the box of normal business operations.

working on the assumption that this figure is from not only donations, but from property revenues and other ventures from the branch, we get a figure of $528 per publisher, per year.

the calculation: 60,000,000 / 113,617 (2014 av pubs) = $528 a year per publisher.

ok bible scholars, do i have this right?.

jehoopla promised the israelites lots of great stuff in the promised land, but they didn't believe him so they sent spies to check it out.

they came back with fruit so large it had to be carried on a branch by 2 men.. from this, dubs believe they are going to have strawberries the size of king king's skull when they get to their own promised land (the new system).

Jeroboam Vs Man of God

He probably never married because he was a pioneer in his time seeking the Kingdom first. (Doesn’t mean he couldn’t dream about Ab′i·shag the Shu′nam·mite) Especially on lonely nights!

1 Kings 13 This Man of God was ordered to go condemn Jeroboam for introducing false worship to 10 tribes of Israel. This he did and it made Jeroboam furious. Jeroboam give the command;

The Man of God was tricked by another prophet;

Final outcome for Man of God who served God all his life and sacrificed everything:

(1 Kings 13:21, 22) “This is what Jehovah has said, ‘For the reason that you rebelled against the order of Jehovah, but you went back that you might eat BREAD and drink WATER in the place.. (DEATH TO YOU BABY) And he got on his way. Later a lion found him on the road and put him to death.

The Man of God was DESTROYED for EATING BREAD and DRINKING WATER.

The Watchtower always used examples like this to emphasize how important it is to be obedient to every single detail coming from the Governing Body.

And I fell for it.

But now I see it differently

Man of the God sacrifices a normal life and serves God all his life but gets slaughter for being tricked into eating Bread and drinking Water?

Jeroboam does not serve God and lives possibly 50-70 years and is King of Israel with lots of women, power, money and your own altars of calves? Plus you can always ask a Man of God to restore you shriveled hand and it will be restored. But you will never be destroyed for eating BREAD and DRINKING WATER.

Prologos may be right. Either they are trying to get rid of critical thinkers or trying to dumb down whoever gets a bible study.

debating this was going to be the last day in field service was not hard after dealing with a nasty mess because i was grouped with the misfits of the kingdom hall!

i was reading this website on my phone while something started to stink in my car and one of the weird kids nobody wanted to work with yelled "hey, you leaking all over my seat, he was freaked out too!

" the older, retired elder, his pioneer daughter had forgotten to put his depends on and that became my problem.

Jws shouldn't go in Field service after 50, it's scriptural.

The elders as stupid as usual, said "hey, we can spray some Windex on your seats and I have some RVs we can do, it's only water!"

You could have offered those elders a drink of water!

Why Does God Allow Suffering?

The WT uses the illustration of a math teacher who is challenged by a student that the math problem can be worked out a different way. The math teacher steps back and allows the student to solve the problem on his own to show the class that the student is incapable of solving the problem. The student fails. The math teacher is vindicated and everyone is happy.

Jehovah in like manner allows humans to rule independently without his involvement to prove they are incapable of ruling themselves. And that my friend is the reason why humans have killed thousands with atomic bombs, and hundreds of thousands have died in tsunamis, and millions are born with all kinds of defects, and thousands are killed in terrorist’s acts, etc.

Aren’t you glad you know the TRUTH?

But wait----------- the illustration is not correct.

No one gets hurt in the math class.

The illustration should be more like a Chemist showing students how to build a bomb with Sarin Gas. The student with no experience challenges the Chemist that the bomb can be built faster and better his way. The Chemist-Teacher allows the student to prove his point and steps out of the room and out of the building. The student blows up everything killing 50% of the students, maiming 25% of the students, and scarring the rest of the survivors with all kinds of sicknesses.

The Chemist is an irresponsible idiot to allow an inexperience student to take control of the class and would be prosecuted by the authorities for allowing such a thing to happen.

When you have time to think about it, the Watchtower’s illustrations suck.

WBTS / JW views never quoted as good source of information

not sure if my title is correct.

what i noticed is that in say secular bible research documentation, books, lectures etc, one never (or at least i have never read it) reads a quote from one of the former or current wbts leaders nor do i ever see a reference to one of their publication (unless it is article about the jw/wbts itself).. for example, if you read a book on a bible theme or topic written by a scholar or other bible teachers/professors from prof xyz, you will find often in these books a reference to publications / statements / quotes from other scholars or professors.

but never have i seen a reference to say a wt publication or quote / statement from one the leaders of the organisation.. so, despite the million page printed or conferences organised by the wbts, the material apparently is never considered of value to others or to use as reference material.. in my view, that says a lot..... or am i wrong?
